Having been set the task of surfing the internet and locating a good basic beginner's classical guitar with a budget of only £50 I said impossible - well it isn't! I was fortunate to discover the Norman's website and after reading reviews and discussing the options with very helpful staff I selected the Stagg C542. I was more than pleasantly surprised at the good basic build quality and reasonable tone of the instrument. This is an excellent first guitar at an incredible budget price. I would suggest a pack including bag and stand and possibly upgrade to a better quality of strings when changing them as the originals are a little 'dead'. I could add that the machine heads are not the best 'Grovers' etc but what do you expect for £50. This is exceptional value and the service I received was excellent and I hate being proved wrong!

I am very pleased with this product. The guitar looks lovely with a rich colour to the wood and the overall build quality feels good. As a beginner I would recommend also purchasing a digital guitar tuner as the guitar will need tuning from the box. I have had it for about 3 weeks now and I can play a few basic melodies and the guitar sounds terrific. I would definately recommend buying one and the service at Normans couldn't have been better. 10/10.

Pros: Good Value for Money, High Quality
I bought this guitar for my son for Christmas. It arrived two days after I ordered it (which was very impressive as it was a week before Christmas). I, personally was very pleased with the look of the guitar and my son was very, very happy on Christmas morning and said it was a fantastic guitar!

Cons: don't expect a 'concert' guitar
Was not expecting great things from this guitar but it has impressed me with its warm tone and volume.
Perhaps would be found wanting in the hands on an expert but for my son and I it fits the bill perfectly.

We use these in school lessons to teach a whole class to play basic chords on the guitar. It is an affordable option for any school and seems to be well built - sturdy and nicely finished. No problems so far!

Great buy. I'm actually a bass player but wanted my 2 year old daughter to familiarize with the guitar so I bought this great value for money Stagg C542 and we are rocking all the Peppa Pig and Lazy Town tunes!
